Congratulations to our hurlers who were the winners of a very special inaugural hurling tournament today in Dunloy in memory of Mrs Maguire’s brother, Tony McGrath.
Our boys played tremendously throughout the day and overcame tough opposition from a strong Dunloy team in the final. Congratulations also to Daniel Barry, who was named Player of the Tournament.
Thank you to St Joseph’s Dunloy for organising such a well-run competition and for the kind invitation. Our thanks also to Mrs Maguire, Chrisy McGilligan and Mr McCullagh who accompanied the team today.
Tony was a past pupil of St. Columba’s and it was fitting that his memorial cup should make its was back today to his old primary school, during our 50th anniversary year.
We remember Tony today and his love and dedication shown to the game of Hurling. We continue to keep his family in our prayers.
